We are pleased to announce that the Process Engineering Division of GEA has signed an agreement with the curator of Diessel GmbH & Co. KG, currently under insolvency procedure, regarding the acquisition of the business activities and assets of the company. The business together with 177 employees will be transferred to a new legal entity, GEA Diessel GmbH, which will remain located in the current Diessel offices and workshop in Hildesheim, Germany.  The transfer date is March 1, 2004.

Final takeover of the business is subject to approval by the German Kartellamt.

Diessel engineers, designs and manufactures process equipment and plants for the Brewery & Beverage and Pharma & Biotech industries and metering equipment and systems for the Dairy industry. Diessel is among the European market leaders in the liquid process engineering market with an excellent reputation for professionalism and quality.

Diessel’s activities complement the activities of Tuchenhagen Brewery Systems, Tuchenhagen Dairy Systems and GEA Liquid Processing Scandinavia. Furthermore, Diessel’s activities and know-how in the Biotech industry will support the efforts of the P-Division world-wide to expand into this growth sector.
