With immediate effect, Niels Erik Olsen has taken over the overall responsibility for the food drying business in the GEA Process Engineering Segment, including the Food Drying Systems Strategic Business Unit. This includes the activities of the GEA Niro Food & Dairy Division, GEA Avapac and GEA Colby. Niels Erik Olsen maintains his responsibility of the Emission Control Strategic Business Unit in GEA Process Engineering.
Niels Erik Olsen will remain responsible for the Chemical Division in GEA Niro until a successor has been appointed.
Niels Erik Olsen is Executive Vice President in GEA Process Engineering A/S at the GEA Niro core technology centre in Soeborg and is also a member of the GEA Process Engineering Management Board. He is a Danish national and holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. He joined GEA Niro in 1991 as a Project Engineer working in the food industry.
Since 1995 he has held different management positions in GEA Process Engineering at various locations in Asia and the US. Niels Erik Olsen returned to Denmark in 2002 heading the European GEA Filtration business. In the period from 1991 to 2004 Niels Erik Olsen’s activities were primarily within food related segments, including working with drying, evaporation, filtration and homogenisation technologies. In 2004 he was promoted to Vice President in the Chemical Division of GEA Niro and in 2007 he was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President in GEA Process Engineering A/S.
