Fluid Bed

Fluid Bed: Rewet Agglomerator

FLUID BED PROCESSING
Fluid bed processing involves drying, agglomeration, granulation, and cooling of particulate materials. During fluid bed drying, heat is supplied by air/gas through the product layer to remove moisture contents in the powder material. Alternatively heating panels or tubes immersed in the fluidized powder layer can act as an additional drying source.

Fluid Bed - Rewet Agglomerator

REWET AGGLOMERATOR
The Rewet Agglomerator fluid bed can produce very coarse instant, free-flowing and dustless products.

Fine sized powders (or powder mixes) require agglomeration to become instant, free-flowing and dust-less consumer products (with fixed micro-composition).

Rewet agglomeration involves dispersion of the fine powder in air, re-wetting it by mixing it with small droplets of liquid to form loose agglomerates with point-to-point contact. The material handling during the agglomeration process itself is specially controlled according to the desired properties of the end-product.

The agglomerates are dried, cooled and screened. Fines and milled oversize material are recycled.

Product: Can produce very coarse instant, free-flowing and dustless products.

COMPACT DRYER

COMPACT DRYER™ - A spray dryer with integrated fluid bed

Agglomerated powders are obtained in systems based upon the integrated fluid bed or belt and a multi-stage concept where moist powder, produced during the first drying stage, forms agglomerates, which are post-dried and cooled in the following stages.

THE COMPACT DRYER™(CD)
The Compact Dryer™ is a spray dryer with an integrated fluid bed. The spray is created by either a rotary atomizer or nozzles. By placing the fluid bed within the drying chamber (annular ring around the air outlet) drying is achieved at lower temperature levels, resulting in higher thermal efficiencies and cooler conditions for powder handling. The plant can include a pneumatic transport system for ordinary powders or an external vibrating fluid bed for agglomerated powders.
