Freeze Drying Plant RAY™ 1

DESIGN
The Atlas RAY™ 1 is designed for a hygienic process and features easy cleaning and maintenance.

The RAY™ 1 pilot plant is used in the food and beverage industries for small-scale production of market samples and for pilot testing of new products prior to full-scale production.

The RAY™ 1 Freeze Drying plant is furthermore used in bacterial and pharmaceutical applications.

The RAY™ 1 plant is operated via a PC control system. Parameters are monitored and stored during the freeze drying process to provide full documentation of the process. This makes it possible to repeat the test with the same characteristics.

Modem for remote control or troubleshooting can be integrated in the PC system.

Test runs with the RAY™ 1 provide excellent data for scaling up to industrial production, either in one of the Atlas RAY™ batch freeze dryers or in a CONRAD™ plant.

AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT
Various auxiliary equipment can be supplied with the RAY™ 1 pilot plant

For solid products:

  • Low-temperature freezer
  • Granulator and sieve arrangement

For liquid products, such as coffee and tea, etc.:

  • Foaming equipment for bulk density control
  • Granulator and sieve arrangement for definition of granule size
  • Pre-freezing and final freezing equipment for controlled freezing process

Batch Plant RAY™ S - For freeze drying of bacteria, enzymes and similar sensitive products

The RAY™-S Series
For freeze drying of bacteria, enzymes and similar sensitive products

  • Superior stainless steel freeze dryers
  • Full steam sterilization: SIP
  • Cleaning In Place: CIP

The RAYTM-S cabinets are constructed of stainless steel throughout. Only the heating plates are made of anodized aluminum to obtain optimal heat transfer by means of radiation.

The RAY™-S cabinets are designed as cylindrical vessels with special attention to the demand for full steam sterilization (SIP) and cleaning in place (CIP).
