NICA M6 Mixer / Granulator
The granulator is designed for both product development and small production purposes. It is ideal for a wide range of product applications, which do not require extensive kneading treatment and can be successfully used for both batch and continuous operation.
The granulator mode of operation produces homogenous mixes irrespective of whether the consistency of the final product is a granule, dough, paste or suspension.
Granulator - Principles of Operation
Dry blended powders are metered onto the center of a high speed turbine where they are de-agglomerated and thrown radically outwards. The granulating fluid is fed into the same turbine wheel and atomized directly into the powder stream.
The particle and droplet streams meet as they pass into a number of readial slots in the turbine and a short but intensive mixing takes place. The wetted product is discharged in continuous stream through an adjustable opening in the turbine cover.
A homogenous mix is instantly produced and since the mixer can be run for only a few seconds or continuously, scale-up problems cease to exist. The same unit is used for development or production.
Residual material in the turbine is minimal and cleaning simply achieved with a cleaning solution flush followed by dismantling for inspection. The compact nature of the granulator means that all parts can be handled with ease by one operator.
