The use of pneumatic hammers provide plant operators with the piece of mind that their product will flow as planned, without a sudden product flow excess causing a bridge. The GEA Niro pneumatic hammers can be fitted on spray dryer chambers, cyclones, ducts and any other thin-gauge stainless steel equipment. Each and every carefully planned impact is fully programmable for timing and impact effect.
The pneumatic hammers are supplied as complete installation packages, with PLC control and air supply units (with built-in safety valves).
Benefits
- Easy to install
- Fully controllable impacts
- Meets explosion proof standards.
Operation
Compressed air propels a ball on to a aluminium plate, which is held in position by a spring. The force of the impact is transferred to the surface requiring vibration to dislodge deposits. the frequency of the impacts is adjusted by the compressed air pulse rate. This frequency of the impacts is electronically controlled via the use of a solenoid valve and the force controlled by the compressed air pressure supplied to the hammer via a pressure regultaing valve.
Low maintenance
The GEA Niro pneumatic hammer operates via a high velocity 'Delrin' ball impacting on a aluminium plate. Operational experience has proven that these essential pieces of equipment can give reliable service for over 1 million impacts without maintenance. As the air supply pipe operates at only 1.2 bar and is, therefore, very safe and long-lasting.
