F15D Stainless Steel Rotary Atomizer
Rotary atomizers from GEA Niro have an unmatched reputation for high quality and reliability. The new F15D builds on these traditions and takes rotary atomizer design to the next level. The wholly stainless steel construction offers customers an increase in overall performance while keeping operational costs at a similar level to existing directly driven rotary atomizers.

3D computer design
The 3 main objectives for the F15D development was: to increase the top-end speed, allow the use of steam as a medium, and to make the F15D rotary atomizer ATEX compliant. To help with these tasks, the latest, state-of-the-art, 3D computer design program was used to examine and optimize every component of the new F15D.

Rotary Atomizer speed increase
The high-speed, direct drive F15D rotary atomizer is controlled by a by frequency converter. This enables an extremely wide range and stable operational wheel speeds. The maximum operational speed has been increased from 20000 to 24000 rev./min., resulting in the possibility to reduce particle size even further.

Quote:
Niro's component design engineer for the F15D project: "We entered into this project with very clear objectives, which enabled the team to focus their respective specialties and produce quick and precise results. The outcome of the collective effort surpassed the initial goals and gave additional operational benefits, including raising the maximum operational temperature in the chamber far beyond any foreseeable applications."

Additional features of the F15D Rotary Atomizer:
• Sealed bearings - greased for life
• No product contamination by lubricant
• Up to 900°C chamber temperature
• Improved bearing cooling system
• Flexible spindle
• Comprehensive monitoring system
• Patented wheel design
• Abrasive and nonabrasive feeds.
