GEA Niro’s Pharma Test Station has extended its range of services within spray drying to include contract manufacturing at its extensive cGMP facilities. The service gives pharma companies the option to scale down or postpone investment into the technology itself and source the service on a needs basis.
Previously the offer of contract manufacturing was designed to enable pharmaceutical companies contemplating the purchase of GEA Niro spray-drying technology to reduce time-to-market. While this is still the case, the service is no longer limited to companies with such investment plans, but is extended to all companies within the pharmaceutical business.

GEA Niro’s Pharma Test Station is available for developing spray-drying processes for pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical-grade products. With contract manufacturing it is now possible for companies to order the production of samples for safety, stability and toxicology studies and of clinical trials materials. The new service also includes the production of material for commercial use. Production is run in line with cGMP standards.
“We feel confident that we add considerable value to the businesses of producers in the pharmaceutical field by extending this service and adding flexibility to their production set-up,” says Michael Wahlberg, head of the Test & Development Center at GEA Niro.
