GEA Niro equipment will comply with the European hygiene standard EN 1672-2 on food machinery to ensure that good hygiene practice and protection against external sources of contamination and ease of cleaning and disinfection can be maintained.

GEA Niro will undertake a risk assessment of equipment at the design stage to ensure that food safety risk is minimised or where possible eliminated.

Where required, GEA Niro will offer its services to the customer for jointly performing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points HACCP on site, as required by Hygiene of Foodstuffs Directive and CODEX Alimantarious.

Equipment, articles and materials that come in contact with food will satisfy laws and regulations relating to “Materials in Contact with Food”.
