GEA Niro can specify spray characteristics to meet your needs including droplet size and particle size, spray angle, flow variation and properties of the liquid being sprayed. The swirl chambers are offered in three designs with orifice discs ranging in size from 0.4-6.4 mm.

Swirl chambers and orifices can be paired in a variety of combinations to produce the exact droplet size, flow rate, spray angle and product quality needed to meet your product specifications.

Mini SDX®

  • Five piece construction
  • Unique swirl chamber – the heart of the mini SDX® design
  • Single inlet spiral configuration produces a natural free-vortex pattern
  • Produces a hollow cone spray pattern
  • Nominal spray angle is 70-75 degrees
  • Flow rate on water at 69 bar G range from as low as 24.2 l/h to as high as 208 l/h
  • Generally used in pilot dryers and box dryers.

SDX®

  • Eight-part construction
  • The key part of this nozzle assembly is the unique swirl chamber
  • Cone-faced body available.

SDX® III

  • Six-part construction
  • All the advantages of the SDX®, including the unique swirl chamber and carbide orifice combinations
  • Simplicity of the mini SDX®, no tools required for assembly or disassembly
  • Cone-faced body available.

SDX® V

  • Simplified five-piece construction (Pat. pending)
  • Smaller and lighter compact design, which is more durable, easy to clean and can be rapidly stripped down and reassembled
  • Compatible with the current SDX® range
  • No wrench or tools required to install or service the nozzle

  • Available with check valve.

SWIRL AIR – air atomizing nozzles

In the swirl air nozzles, the gas and liquid supplies are mixed internally and the swirl air offers a wide range of flow rates and spray angles, which is unique in air atomizing nozzles.
