The most economic method for producing soluble coffee is spray drying, which results in free-flowing and agglomerated/granulated powders. Thanks to an extremely high level of control, our customers can manufacture products meeting the demands of their individual markets. The design of the spray dryer depends upon the desired powder properties, e.g. moisture content, particle size, and bulk density.
GEA Niro offers three designs for the manufacture of soluble coffee:
FSD™ Fluidized Spray Dryer
For free flowing agglomerated/granulated powder ranging between 100-300 microns – The most modern and optimal spray dryer for gentle drying, less energy consumption and less space re-quirement.
The most common spray dryer for free flowing powder ranging between 100-200 microns, how-ever, more fragile powders with tendency for dust – the optimal choice if a further agglomeration
For coarse, agglomerated/granular free-flowing and dustless powder with average particle size of 250-1000 microns.
