GEA Niro’s VIBRO-FLUIDIZER™ has proved that it is by far the most efficient
and sanitary vibrating fluid bed
dryer on the market. It is a vibrating fluid bed of the plug flow type. The
VIBRO-FLUIDIZER™ can be operated as a separate drying or cooling unit for
powders or agglomerates, but is usually used in combination with a spray drying plant such
as the Multi-Stage Dryer MSD™,
Fluidized Spray Dryer FSD™, COMPACT DRYER™, or TALL FORM DRYER™, or together with
a back mix fluid bed in specialty dryers such as the lactose dryer and the TIXOTHERM™ dryer.

How does the VIBRO-FLUIDIZER™ work?
The moist
powder layer is vibrated on an air distributor plate. The effect of the
vibration combined with the upward and forward directed flow of drying air
through the perforated plate creates ideal processing conditions and powder
transport. Thanks to the vibration, it is possible to operate with fluidized
powder layers of less than 200 mm. This gives a narrow and controlled residence
time that is short and attrition is avoided.
The air distributor plate is fully welded directly to the fluid bed housing
and there are no hollow spaces in the construction. This makes the
VIBRO-FLUIDIZER™ the only true sanitary vibrating plug flow fluid bed available
on the market.
The perforation of the air distributor plate design is selected according to
product application and it is possible to determine the angle and direction of
the forward directed airflow. This makes the VIBRO-FLUIDIZER™ a very efficient
after drying unit where the powder comes close to the equilibrium of the
incoming drying air. Further, it is self-emptying.
The VIBRO-FLUIDIZER™ can be equipped with integrated retractable CIP nozzles
for a complete and efficient CIP
wet cleaning with very short turnaround time.
