GEA has strengthened the Process Engineering Division by taking over the business of Messo-Chemietechnik GmbH in Duisburg and its subsidiaries in Italy and Switzerland. The acquisition has already been approved by the German antitrust authorities.

The Messo Group is one of the market leaders in crystallization technology for the chemical, food and biotechnology industries, and is also a major supplier of evaporation equipment. Messo thus represents an ideal expansion of the crystallization and evaporation business of the Process Engineering Division.

The Messo Group generated sales of 25 million EUR in 2003 and currently employs 45 persons.
